Precision cleaning is an essential process in many fields such as electronics and aerospace. To remove the flux, oil, grease, wax and dust before or after re-working, re-assembly, etc., the solvents used should mainly be non-flammable and non-electric conductivity. 
Precise cleaning consists of 3 steps: Cleaning or Washing, Rinsing, and Drying. some processes do not require all 3 steps to be completed depending on the requirements of each industry. The solution we choose to use in each step must have the properties mentioned above. To prevent damage to the workpiece and the industry. 

The solutions used are of various types and can be divided as follows:

  1. Water-based solvents (very environmentally friendly but less effective in removing stains)

  2. Semi-water-based (Less environmentally friendly than water-based, but more effective in removing stains)

  3. Solvent-based (The most effective but the most dangerous)

    Meanwhile, some alternatives are environmentally friendly and easily biodegradable in the atmosphere. Hydrofluoroether (HFE) Both properties have less effect on global warming (Global warming potential, GWP) and the potential to destroy the ozone layer is low or equal to 0 (Ozone-depleting potential, ODP), making this substitute safe and friendly. environment at the same time  It also provides good efficiency in removing light stains (Light duty) to heavy stains (Heavy duty).
As you know above, precision cleaning has a total of 3 steps. In order to understand the meaning and choice of solution, each step can be explained as follows.
  1. ​Cleaning (Washing, Cleaning) -It is the most important process out of the 3 steps because this process must remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, or various waxes. Therefore, the solution chosen must have the ability to remove these stains well. It must also not corrode the workpiece and not conduct electricity. The solution used can range from pure water to chemicals in the family. (Perchloroethylene, PCE) and if heat is applied to the system, it will also increase the efficiency of removing stains more easily. 
  2. Rinsing -This process is a continuation of cleaning. This may not require the same cleaning efficiency as the first process. It is only to completely remove the solution from the first step. The solution chosen must be a solution that easily evaporates if there is to be a drying process in step 3 next.
  3. Drying (Dying, Vapor degreasing) -This last step dries out the rinse and cleaner, so the solution you choose should be able to remove all of the cleaning and rinsing compound from the previous step. You must also not leave any traces of the solution after this step.
